Formed in 2017, BRiCK Quartet features Brian Halpin on piano/organ/vocals, Rich Falcetano on guitar, Carl Scariati on bass, and Kirk Sohr on drums.
BRiCK performs a range of refreshingly original interpretations of popular music. We pay homage to composers like Chick Corea, Fred Hersch, Weather Report, Steely Dan, Pat Methany. You’ll hear sizzling arrangements of pop R&B / soul classics and Latin sounds, and many familiar standards from the great American Songbook during a BRiCK performance.
Brian Halpin (keyboards/vocals) studied jazz piano with Barry Harris and Andy LaVerne, accompanied the Alvin Ailey American Dance Theatre and has gigged at many NY area clubs, including Birdland, The Angry Squire, the Comic Strip, Trumpets, Cecil’s and Hat City Kitchen. He performs regularly with The Free Speech Trio, Western Spur, Viva Flamenco, and BRiCK. Brian enjoys composing, arranging, and mixing up musical styles and genres. His favorite Beatle is George.
Rich Falcetano (guitar) is an alumnus of the William Paterson University jazz program, earning a Bachelor of Music degree in Instrumental Jazz Performance. Rich is adept at lending his own interpretation to the melody and harmonic structure of the group’s selections. Rich has played with many prominent jazz artists including saxophonist Bill Evans and vibraphonist Dave Samuels.
Carl Scariati (bassist) displays his virtuosity on both the fretless electric and acoustic bass. His unique sound is featured prominently throughout the group’s performance. Carl is a renowned freelance acoustic and electric bassist who also plays with the Free Speech Trio and had a long running tenure with pianist/vocalist Loren Daniels. He has also played with many other prominent jazz artists including trumpeter Freddie Hendrix, saxophonist Mark Gross, and drummer Nick Scheuble.
